WHAT DO WE DO?
Fall Semester
LITTLE I
Every fall semester as part of the UConn "Introduction to Animal Science" class students train a species of livestock over several weeks. This opportunity enables students to gain hands-on experience in socializing, training, and handling livestock.
A livestock show called "Little I" is hosted by the UConn Block and Bridle Club and UConn Department of Animal Science to display their work. Members of Block and Bridle work to plan and run this event.
Spring Semester
NESA
NESA stands for North East Student Association and is an annual event in which Block and Bridle chapters across the northeast meet to compete in livestock judging, quiz bowl, and presentation competitions.
Spring Semester
NATIONALÂ CONVENTION
National Block and Bridle Convention gives members from across the country the opportunity to connect with other chapter members and industry leaders while learning about different aspects of agriculture through tours and guest speakers.
Fall & Spring Semesters
FARM TOURS
Throughout the academic year we strive to offer opportunities to visit farms to learn more about agriculture outside of UConn's campus.
